Meghan Bowers, Executive Director
Meghan joined the Humane Society of Warren County in December of 2018. She most recently worked as an Animal Care Technician in Catlett, Virginia and served as the Shelter Manager for Friends of Homeless Animals in Aldie, Virginia before that. Meghan has acquired a skillset from her experience in these positions as well as management positions in other fields that will compliment the existing Leadership Team well. Meghan values hard work and honesty and intends to introduce new, exciting events and expand our volunteer base.
Kayla Wines, Shelter Manager
Kayla joined the Humane Society of Warren County as an Animal Caregiver in 2013 and received her Veterinary Assistant Certification that same year. Kayla has been on our leadership team since becoming our Canine Team Leader in 2017 and now serves as our Shelter Manager. She has over 15 years of management experience and a vast knowledge of Shelter Operations and Customer Service. Her strengths and capabilities have proved indispensable for our organization.
Kristen Palmer, Canine Kennel Manager
Kristen was hired in March of 2020 and has quickly moved up the ranks. She now leads our canine department and is known for her organization and ability to remain calm under pressure. Kristen also works our adoption and intake desks, works closely with our shelter veterinarian and ensures the pups in our care receive proper enrichment and playtime.
Gillian Crowe, Feline Kennel Manager
Gillian has been with the Humane Society of Warren County since 2018. She is fantastic with our cats and recognizing early signs of stress and illness. Not only does Gillian lead our feline department, she works the adoption desk, intake desk and assists with our TNR program. Gillian also works closely with our shelter veterinarian
Susan Jeffery, Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Susan comes to us with 20 years experience in bookkeeping and office management. She most recently worked as the Business Manager for another non-profit organization in Front Royal VA, The Warren Heritage Society. Susan is very knowledgeable in her duties as Office Manager and we are excited to have her on board.
Tiffany Rothgeb, Adoption Coordinator
Tiffany was re-hired as our Adoption Coordinator in August 2020. She has years of experience in the non-profit world and is known for her stellar customer service skills. She previously served as our Level 3 Animal Care Attendant on cat team and most recently worked for a local veterinary clinic as a client care specialist. She is knowledgeable in animal welfare and we are excited to have her back on our team. Tiffany will be the one at the front desk greeting visitors with a smile on her face and ready to help in anyway she can.
Sue Wagoner, Community Engagement Specialist
Sue had been volunteering for the shelter for 5 years before accepting a position as an Animal Caretaker in October of 2015. Before moving to Virginia, Sue volunteered at the Humane Society of Golden Valley in Minnesota and was involved in canine rehabilitation. Sue is your direct contact for both junior and adult volunteer programs and coordinates volunteer orientations. Part of her responsibilities are to train new volunteers and coordinate with them to help out at special events.
